[Joan] Rosenblum's paintings continue her explorations of infinite space. The most interesting thing about them is the subtlety of her pastels; her ability to modulate color lifts her work to its ethereal heights.
In "Real Real Gone," Rosenblum contrasts pink and gray hues, bleeding them together near the heart of her working surface. The color's strained interaction, coupled with a strategically placed turquoise vertical stripe in one corner of her composition, gives the painting its luminescent energy.
